Russian businessman Gherman Gorbuntsov says that since December 16, 2020, the prosecutor investigating the raider atack case on Universalbank and the attempted murder on him, has requested a review of the case in order to close the criminal case.
According to an open letter signed by Gorbuntsov, published on several Telegram channels, during the re-examination of the criminal case, ordered in autumn 2020, the prosecutor in the case “asks to accept the requests of Renato Usatii’s lawyers, and to annul the Prosecutor General’s decision to resume investigation ”.
This is “nonsense”, as the investigator should do the exact opposite, defend the injured party and not the suspect, the letter states. “In this regard, I declare that I will submit a request for recusal of this prosecutor, because through his actions he has clearly shown that he is not interested in the investigation of the crimes committed.
